A Reddit user claims that Facebook required them to upload a photo of their face before they could regain access to their account.
The user posted a screenshot of the page, which reads:
“To get back on Facebook, upload a photo that clearly shows your face. Make sure the photo is well-lit and isn’t blurry. Don’t include other people in the shot. Once we’ve confirmed it’s you, we’ll permanently delete the photo. It won’t appear on your profile.”
This new development suggests that Facebook is now using their facial recognition technology as a method of authentication.
The biggest question that we have is: How can Facebook be sure that the image was uploaded by the account holder?
