HP Printers Collect Your Printing Data and Use it for Advertising

The Infinite Brief
HP printers collect more data than a reasonable person would ever expect.

This includes metadata about your devices, as well as information about all the documents that you print, including timestamps, number of pages, and the application doing the printing.

HP state that they do stop short of looking at the contents of your documents.

HP’s data collection notice states that one of the reasons the company saves your data is for advertising purposes.
