Mozilla Removes Avast Extensions From Firefox

The Infinite Brief
Mozilla has removed four extensions by Avast from the Firefox addon site over concerns that they were tracking a user’s activity as they are browsed the web.

Avast and AVG extensions have been removed but are not blocked which means that the extensions remain installed in Firefox browsers for the time being.

According to previous reports, Avast’s extension transmitted browser history data to Avast.

Possible scenarios include Mozilla adding the extensions to its blocklist or will requesting that Avast makes changes to the extensions before they are reinstated.
