Tumblr Sends Your Data to Corporations and There’s No Way to Opt Out

The Infinite Brief
Tumblr shares data with hundreds of companies, but there are five “foundational partners” which cannot be opted-out.

These five include Google, Amazon, Facebook, Teads (an ad marketplace), and (mobile ad platform).

The shared data includes advertising identifiers, device identifiers, cookies, the collection of advertisement information and much more.

Tumblr’s terms of service include storage of IP addresses to track location and taking information from the above foundational partners, such as gender or any other personal information you’ve stored with them that those parties agree to sharing, in order to personalise recommended posts and advertisements.
