Australia is Now Considering a Mandatory Virus Tracking App

Mobile phone tracking software could be compulsory if not enough Australians voluntarily download the application to help in coronavirus case tracing.

Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison says at least 40% of the population needs to use the app to make it effective.

The country’s deputy chief medical officer Paul Kelly says the app will will initially rollout on a voluntary basis.

The app is being developed based on a Singaporean version, TraceTogether.
